Crossmount is a small village just south of Saskatoon. The Crossmount Cider Company was incorporated in 2014. The first apple tree saplings were planted this same year and the cider press, washers and fermentation tanks were ordered. Three varieties of Crossmount Cider Company’s signature blend were launched in spring of 2016. These were Flatlander Gold, Flatlander Dry and Flatlander Crisp. By summer, a fourth blend, called Citri-Hopped, was added and this was followed by a fifth blend, named Cider & Black, in early 2017.
Crossmount Cider Company’s ciders are crafted using 100% Canadian apples, never from concentrate, and contain no artificial flavours or sweeteners. The cidery and tasting room are on the south side of the Crossmount property where visitors can enjoy tours and tastings and experience the authentic flavours of the ciders in a picturesque setting.
B.C.-born cidermaker Samantha Chamberlain moved to Saskatoon sight unseen in 2018, for a job at Crossmount Cider Company. She’s now the woman responsible for carrying forward the delicious, handcrafted Flatlander Cider brand.
The orchard is comprised of 1500 trees with apple varieties bred on the prairies. There’s trees on this property that aren’t anywhere else in the world,” Samantha says,
