Big Rock Brewery has locations across Canada know for its beer. It now produces a cider called Rock Creek. Founded in 1985 by Ed McNally.

The rooster represents our early arrival as craft brewers. It's also a bi...t of a nod to the "cock of the walk" bravura that Ed McNally had when he started Big Rock Brewery.

Broken Spoke Cider Co. became Edmonton’s first craft cidery in July 2020. The cidery is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team James and Jenny Black and their friendNick Ford.

Broken Spoke’s name came from a cider-fuelled brain-storm session. The label – which features a stylized aerial shot of a cyclist — was designed by Jenny’s friend and former colleague, Adnan Huseinovic.

James is a competitive triathlete who represented Team Canada at the World Triathlon Finals in Australia in 2018

The small town of Bonnyville on the north shore of Jessie Lake about 250 kms north east of Edmonton. Since their inception in 2019 the company has planted over 2300 trees and bushes for a variety of fruits like apples, pears, plums, cherries, saskatoons, haskaps.

The cidery is owned by 4 friends Kelly and Brian Fieger and their friends Jeremy and Amber Bourboing.

There is a fully licensed restaurant with a unique menu to this area, focusing on small plates/share plates and things to pair with cider,

In 2022 Journey North Cider Co won the Peter Mitchell Award for Educational Excellence

Brendan and Elizabeth (Liz) Kearns, a husband and wife team that began Lekker with the intention of introducing the market to a range of ciders which borrow from tradition but are inspired by modern day experimentation. Lekker Cider Co. was born in August 2018; inspired by Brendan’s ever-flowing creativity and entrepreneurial drive, and Liz’’s curiosity around all things food and drink, as well as her heart for hospitality.

Lekker’s name is inspired from South African culture, where family heritage runs deep. Used as slang in describing that which is tasty, delicious and local - we took this philosophy and ran with it. We strive to live up to the sentiment in our cider making and lifestyles, knowing that it is the creating, sharing, exploring and giving back that goes into making the lekker times.

Sunnycider is a local cider company based in Calgary, AB that focuses on using urban apples throughout the city to prevent waste and to create delicious cider. The main principles are Tim Kitchen cider master and President. Darlene Kitchen looking after the business side and Dennis Scanland general manger.

They also make mead.

Uncommon Cider Co. claims to be Western Canada’s first urban cidery, located in Calgary, Alberta. The beginning of Uncommon started well over ten years ago.Brodie Thomas was living overseas in England when he was first introduced to true full-juice, English-style cider. After falling in love with the depth of ciders in England, he started to make his own (very badly) while living in Cornwall, UK. Brodie fell in love with the process of cider and having to wait until the next year to try again. Once he moved back to Calgary, Alberta he continued to make cider using all of the excess apples he found in neighborhoods around Calgary. It may have taken a long time, but finally Uncommon was born.

Wyder's cider was formulated in 1987 by cider master Ian Wyder who learned his craft in England at one of the UK's premier ciderys.

Wyder's was first sold in Vancouver, BC and was later introduced into the US market in Washington and Oregon. Northern California's Bay Area got a taste in 1993 and Wyder's is now widely available throughout the Western US

It is produced in Canada by Wyder's Beverages Canada LTD
