Today I would be visiting a few wineries in the Lake Country on the east side of Okanagan Lake. I was going to allow the road signs to determine my direction. Lake country is just north of Kelowna. Here you find some outstanding wineries.

To reach the wineries you need to take some very nice country roads leading towards the lake. The first winery I cam across was Arrowleaf Cellars. An award winning winery.

A Contemporary tasting room and family-friendly picnic area have sweeping views of Okanagan Lake and surrounding vineyards. The Winery is named after the Arrowleaf Balsamroot, also known as the Okanagan Sunflower. It’s local to our area & blooms on the hillsides in early spring.

The winery is extremely well designed with beautiful ground to enjoy.

I settled in for a tasting experience with my host David. We stared with Field Collection White 2022, an aromatic blend of 41% Riesling, 38% Gewürztraminer, 15% Pinot Gris and 6% Auxerrois. It is an Excellent wine.

Next came 2021 Riesling with a gentle touch of sweetness. Followed by a rosé made with 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Zweigelt grapes grown in the Lake Country sub-region of the Okanagan Valley. The first red was the 2021 Pinot Noir just released. A most enjoyable first stop of the day
