Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery

Summer may be gone, some wineries will be closed, but one of the gems in Abbotsford's Mt Lehman region is still open. A warm and cozy welcome awaits you at Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery nestled in the middle of the Valley.

Barbara and I with good friends and wine enthusiasts, Ken and Kimberly, visited the winery Sunday, October 25th . The crisp sunny day provided for a scenic drive through the countryside.

The winery has excellent COVID-19 19 protocols in place; no more than four to a table, with appropriate distancing between tables; reservations are required

Allison Zimmerman co-owner of the winery along with her husband David once owned a Pearl Store along Marine Drive in White Rock thus the wineries name. They have done a magnificent job of creating one of BC's "Gems" of a winery.

It's a true tasting experience. Allison and her well trained staff will guide you through the tasting describing in depth the attributes of each wine. They will also fill you in on the historic story behind every label.

In warmer weather there are two patios to choice from, one at the front of the winery, (west facing) and the other on the back, (east facing over the vineyard) The back patio also provides a fantastic view of Mt Baker.

All the wines are of the higher quality, winning numerous awards. A silver medal was won at the BC Lieutenant Governors General Wine Awards for their The Connaught Syrah 2018 (Similkameen) this year. That label is one of Barbara's favourites along with the Merlot.

Tyra ~ a perfect host

Tyra and Allison co-hosted our tasting experience which was a double pleasure for us. Time just flew by as we relaxed while enjoying the commentary and wines. It is a very impressive cellar; David Zimmerman's wine making skills are well honed. We enjoyed Charcuterie plate featuring local farm fresh cheeses, that complimented the tasting experience.
