Seaside Pearl

Barbara and I re-visted Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery in the beautiful Fraser Valley area of Abbotsford, British Columbia on a marvellous summer afternoon; our first visit this summer. The winery provides such a peaceful and tranquil setting where one can relax on the patio and enjoy the view of Mt Baker and the vineyard.

Before heading to the patio armed with a glass of wine each and a delicious cheese plate, we made a quick visit to the Barrel Room where co-owner Allison Zimmerman was hosting an event. Allison recently returned from London England where she had poured tastings of Seaside's superb wines in Canada House, which is quite an honour. The wines were well received.

Allison and David's daughter Hennasey poured us a tasting of their new release 2018 Magnolias Estate Cabernet Foch Rose. In one word, superb!

Hennasey prepared a tasty cheese plate to enjoy on the patio

I chose their award winning Chardonnay, Barbara selected the Interurban Cabernet Franc.

Both wines met our expectations

As we relaxed on the patio we were fortunate to be joined by co owner/winemaker David Zimmerman. David took time out of his busy day to enjoy a glass of red as we chatted about, you guessed it, wine!

Staff member Brooke was kept busy going back and forth between the Barrel and Tasting rooms with supplies. We were pleased she found time to say hello to us, she is like a breath of fresh air with her sunny personality.

We had an unexpected visitor suddenly appear in the vineyard, the paddock gate had been left open by mistake. Hennesey quickly took charge and led him back to where he belonged. As is usual, on our visits, time slipped quickly by and the next thing we knew closing time had arrived. We said our good byes with a promise to return soon, and headed home relaxed and content!

Hospitality at its best!

Great Wines!

Thank you Seaside Pearl!
