Ancient Hill Vineyards and Winery
4918 Anderson Road,
Kelowna BC V1X 7V7
|
|
Located on a hillside east of Kelowna International Airport. Ancient
Hills is owned by Richard and Jitske Kamphuys.
The adventure began in 2005 as they cleared the land and planted
several years with 27,000 vines (Baco Noir, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer,
Lemberger, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir).
In 2008, Robert Mackenzie, the well-known architect from Penticton, was asked to design a winery building that fit the name and concept of Ancient Hill. The result is superb. And in 2009, accomplished consulting winemaker Christine Leroux took on the task of creating Ancient Hill’s first vintage
The name ‘Ancient Hill’ was chosen as an acknowledgement of the natural forces that created the terroir of the vineyard.
Their logo symbolizes the interconnectedness of the various elements of Nature that are needed to create wine. Earth, Air and Water are inextricably combined. They provide the platform for the eternal circle of life to play out. In our case, the growth of the grape vine and the fruit it produces

Burnt Timber is located on a private, gated estate in South Kelowna. Our Guest Lodge Tasting Room will be open by appointment only in Spring 2019. The winery’s name pays homage to the devastating forest fire that happened here in 2003. It’s a testament to the virtues of time and transformation, in the surrounding landscape and in the wines.
The winery is owned by Paul Lee who has a passion for for producing rich reds sourced from the South Okanagan’s premier vineyards. In 2012 he acquired a very special 30-acre lakefront property in the old farming community of South Kelowna. Not long after moving in, his inventive nature and a well-developed sense of fun had him thinking about a new kind of adventure.
