Okanagan Trip 2020

Day 7

View from the hill above Nk'Mip Cellars

We retraced our steps and headed back to Osoyoos. We had a lunch date at Nk'Mip Cellars and a diner date at Burrowing Owl.

Nk'Mip Cellars Patio Restaurant is available weather permitting. The weather was perfect! The restaurant was totally booked. Although the winery has a  concierge. It takes two different phone calls or online booking to make a reservation in the restaurant and a tasting. I did not reserve a tasting.

For lunch Barbara and I had the Bison Sandwich. It was quite tasty. The portion a little small.

The View

After lunch we went back to the motel to enjoy the pool.

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery

We drove into Oliver to dine at Sonora Room Restaurant at Burrowing Owl Estate winery. Our reservation was for 7:pm. We arrived early but was seated almost twenty minutes providing very little time to enjoy the view from the deck.

The serves was very good. The meal, Beef Ribeye sautéed WTF mushrooms, wilted summer greens, parmesan-truffle polenta croutons, peppercorn sauce excellent and the wine 2018 Merlot wonderful. It was a very enjoyable meal topped off by a couple of desserts. Rose & Peach “Ile flottante”, soft baked meringue, Calliope Gewürztraminer poached peaches, nut crumble and chocolate pâté, salted caramel, cocoa crumble, mint ice cream.

A very good way to end a hoilday in wine country.
