Robin and Mike Nierychlo Emandare Vineyards

Robin and Mike Nierychlo

As a boutique, family run winery, Emandare is our home and
it is our sincere desire to privately and intentionally share this place,
our story and of course our lovely wines with you.

We have been blessed with this beautiful place that we get to experience on a daily basis. Our hope is that you too can experience Emandare either through sipping on a glass of our wine or taking the time to visit us here at our home.

Mike and Robin Nierychlo moved from Langley. British Columbia Cowichan Valley, overlooking Somenos Lake near the city of Duncan Vancouver Island in 2013 to pursue their dream of making wine.

Mike is not only the co-owner but also the self-described “Tractor Driver (& President)” of Emandare Vineyard. He brings a background in marketing, business, and a deep love for wine, food, and craftsmanship. Mike is the winemaker.

“What’s in your glass should never become more important than who you are sharing it with.”“Wine is grown, not made.”

Before founding Emandare, Mike was known for his wine-focused video blog, Wine Garage TV, where he shared his enthusiasm and knowledge about wine with a growing online audience.

Robin co-manages the vineyard with Mike. Together, they are dedicated to sustainable, organic farming and creating wines that reflect the unique terroir of their land.

Together they created a space that reflects their values : authenticity, sustainability, and hospitality. Whether it’s through hosting tastings, managing the vineyard’s guest house, or tending to the vines, Robin plays a central role in making Emandare a beloved destination.

6798 Norcross Road, Duncan BC, V9L 6C3

Emandare Vineyard sits on a unique south sloping hillside in the rain shadow of Mount Prevost overlooking Somenos Lake . The winery focuses on pinot noir and marechal-cabernet foch for reds, Sauvignon blanc and Gewürztraminer for whites, and both a still and sparkling rosé.

The name: We wanted something completely unique, just like our vineyard. The goal is that when people think of the word Emandare, they associate it with this place or this wine. It is also our initials, Mike & Robin =M and R= Em-and-are."
