Litte Red Wagon

"We are a small vineyard and winery, situated about an hour west of Ottawa-Gatineau in scenic West Quebec. We live on the site of a historical fruit farm from the 40's, where today heritage grapes still grow."

Little Red Wagon is located in Shawville, Quebec. Shawville a small, historic town in western Quebec known for its strong community spirit, red brick architecture, and agricultural roots. The Pontiac region just west of Ottawa seems to suited to growing grapes. thanks to a favourable microclimate and the cultivation of cold climate grapes.

The small but popular winery is owned by Jennifer Dale and Scott Judd, who live on the site in a historical fruit farm from the 40's. Jennifer is a multi-talented force—an artist, mother of four, and one of the few female winemakers in Quebec. Beyond farming and winemaking, Scott is a singer-songwriter and president of the Pontiac Soil Club.

They have planted over 6800 vines on our 6 acres of farmland. Jen and Scott have always been farmers first, and take great pride in the land and wine they produce. From soil to glass, every step of the process is as important as the last. The winery opened in 2017 with our 2016 premiere vendage.

Today they grow Louise Swenson, Petit Perle, Frontenac Noir, Frontenac Blanc, Frontenac Gris, and Marquette.

The winery is proud to be one of Pontiac county’s best music venues. We have hosted a myriad of artists from blues, classical, rock, and of course our house favourite, folk. Concert nights at Little Red Wagon often have the option to start with an incredible dinner, but be sure to check the details and type of ticket you’re buying to know when to show up and what you’re getting!

You can also enjoy the works of local artists displayed in the reception room, which accommodates up to 75 guests.

The Judds also produce Piquettes a sparkling wine-like beverage, made from the pressed grape skins (called pomace) and added water. Although originally “poor-man’s wine”, Piquette has evolved to a beloved Quebec favourite. A light beverage, perfect over ice on the patio, and sustainable too!

They offer a small plates menu to complement the wine. Charcuterie, cheese board, trout paté, etc…

Philosophy: They believe in creating a welcoming space where people can enjoy wine, food, art, and music—all rooted in local culture and sustainability.
