Nestled on the hillside of a former gold mining creek, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards sits unrivaled on top of the "Golden Mile" in Oliver, "the Wine Capital of Canada", and offers a truly unique wine experience. It all began in 1993. In 2017 the winery sold to Andrew Peller Ltd. In 2021 Leandro Nosal was appointed head winemaker

Leandro hails from Mendoza, Argentina, where his family that has been making wine for generations. His interest in wine grew from the stories his Grandmother told him about working inthe vineyard.

Nosal went on to pursue a degree in agricultural engineering from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendozo, the goal being to gain a solid understanding of things like soil, irrigation, and plant physiology. He earned a Master of Science in Viticulture and Oenology and was awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, a highly regarded honour given by the European Commission.*

Prior to joining Tinhorn after working in New Zealand, California,Onatrion and Mission Hills in BC.

Leandro strongly believes that low intervention winemaking is the best way to make wines that truly show their terroir. He has learned his technical winemaking skilling, by studying and working with the best in the industry, including Pernod Ricard and Grupo Penaflor.

“The Okanagan is fantastic because you have wine professionals from all over the world in one place sharing their knowledge, I think the Golden Mile Bench has one of the most interesting terroirs, and I strive to showcase that uniqueness in our wines.” says Leandro Nosal

Leandro is married to A Canadian girl. They have two children
