One of the largest and prestiges winery in Ontario is Two Sisters winery. The winery is owned by two sisters Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli and Angela Marotta. They also plan to open a second winery called The Stone Eagle in Niagarian-on-the-Lake.
The head winemaker is Adam Pearce. After graduating from the Winery & Viticultural program at Niagara College, Adam perfected his craft at leading wineries along the Escarpment before moving outside Ontario to further his skillset.
After time with wineries in both British Columbia and Australia, Adam returned to Niagara to spearhead the wine program at Two Sisters Vineyards.
Taking a non-interventionalist approach to TSV’s luxury wine portfolio, Adam lets the fruit and vineyards take center stage in producing wines that are a true expression of the terroir. In 2018, Adam’s efforts were rewarded at Canada’s most prestigious wine competition, The National Wine Awards of Canada. The 2014 Cabernet Franc was awarded a platinum medal along with other distinguished awards which led to TSV being awarded ‘Best Performing Small Winery of the Year in Canada’. The National Wine Awards of Canada, hosted by WineAlign. Two Sisters Vineyards 2014 Cabernet Franc was awarded a platinum medal and as a result of the total six medals received, Two Sisters Vineyards was awarded ‘Best Performing Small Winery of the Year in Canada’.
Pearce made the first sparkling Cabernet Franc in Ontario, which is a grape traditionally used for red wine opposed to sparkling.
Working along side Adam is assistant winemaker Emily Royal. Emily began working with Two Sisters Vineyards as a Cellar Hand in 2018. Promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2020, she is preparing for her fifth harvest with the winery and looking forward to their new project, a second winery opening in the near future.
Two Sisters is located in the heart of the Niagara River sub-appellation, our winery and vineyards span over 130 acres across this remarkable part of Ontario. Planted varietals include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
