The View's 2018 Gewürztraminer

The small but impressive View Winery & Vineyard in East Kelowna has established itself as one one of British Columbia's finer wine producers. Tucked into a charming 1920's era vintage building, the wine shop is an eclectic and inviting stop for any wine tour. This building served as a neighbourhood apple packing house for generations. Visitors are offered the unique opportunity to taste our estate grown wines and Ward ciders within the working cellar for a truly authentic experience. Built by George Ward in 1922, the packinghouse is the last from its era in the Kelowna area.

The winemaker is Kristy French. The vineyard manager is Jasvir Sidhu. The family winery is co-owned and managed by Jennifer Turton-Molgat since 2006.

The winery features a number of impressive wines. I have tried a number of them and liked everyone of them. The Pinot Noir 2017 is exceptional as is the 2017 Pinotage . If it is possible to top these two wines I might have to give a slight edge to their 2018 Gewürztraminer. An truly extraordinary refreshing wine.

The wine is intriguing complexity. A different experience on every sip. Its a wine to relax and enjoy on its own. The aroma is intense with fresh apple and honey with hints of pineapple. The flavours continue displaying orange blossoms sweet honey, peaches and pears. Just an amazing array of tropical fruits.

The finish is wonderful, smoothing, a beautiful balanced wine.

The View Winery and Vineyards.
