Horns of Odin Craft Brewery Inc

After 32 years of life as Conservation officer Chuck Gallison was inspired by a trip to Iceland to open a Meadery with a Viking Theme. It is believed that the Vikings came to Prince Edward Island over a 1000 years ago. Gallison was born in France. His father was in the air force, so he moved around a bit, first to Ottawa until he was around 12 years old, and then to Summerside.

Chuck with his wife  Celie along side started their meadery in the former canteen area attached to the Irving gas station and Lily’s Convenience Store in Bedford located about 17-20 minutes outside of Charlottetown. Bedford lies between the Tracadie Bay and Hillborough River. The Horns of Odin ,named after the Norse God, opened its doors in 2021.

Gallison describes his operation as a rural business. He makes molomel mead, which is mead with added fruit, and he uses as many local ingredients as he can. Gallison hopes Horns of Odin can become a service for hire at celebrations like weddings, where he would dress as a Viking and serve mead from a barrel. But for now, he said he's content with the size of the business.
