There is a growing appreciation for cider across the world. The Canadian Prairies is meeting that demand. Manitoba has 4 cider houses, Alberta has seven and Saskatchewan has.4 with more on the way.
One of the leading cider houses in Saskatchewan is Crossmount Cider Company. Located 5 km south from Saskatoon. Crossmount produces 100,000 litres of cider a year. Its main Flatlander series run the gamut from more traditional dry and crisp to semi-sweet ciders to hop-infused, seasonal “winter spice.” Like Dead Horse, the cidery uses a blend of Canadian apples for their standard lineup.
The Crossmount Cider Company was incorporated in 2014. The first apple tree saplings were planted this same year and the cider press, washers and fermentation tanks were ordered. Three varieties of Crossmount Cider Company’s signature blend were launched in spring of 2016. These were Flatlander Gold, Flatlander Dry and Flatlander Crisp. By summer, a fourth blend, called Citri-Hopped, was added and this was followed by a fifth blend, named Cider & Black, in early 2017.
Crossmount Cider Company’s ciders are crafted using 100% Canadian apples, never from concentrate, and contain no artificial flavours or sweeteners. The cidery and tasting room are on the south side of the Crossmount property where visitors can enjoy tours and tastings and experience the authentic flavours of the ciders in a picturesque setting.

The Tasting Room and Cidery are located on the south side of the Crossmount property, overlooking our apple orchard and natural pond. The pond turns into a skating rink during the winter time!

B.C.-born cidermaker Samantha Chamberlain moved to Saskatoon sight unseen in 2018, for a job at Crossmount Cider Company. She’s now the woman responsible for carrying forward the delicious, handcrafted Flatlander Cider brand.
The orchard is comprised of 1500 trees with apple varieties bred on the prairies. There’s trees on this property that aren’t anywhere else in the world,” Samantha says,
Crossmount Cider has committed to sharing a portion of its profits to support conservation efforts in these unique ecosystems. Partnering with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), Crossmount Cider’s contributions will help conserve Prairie grasslands and the remarkable wildlife they sustain. By contributing to this initiative, Crossmount Cider is helping to ensure that the Prairie grasslands remain healthy and vibrant now and for future generations.

They offer a small food service, Sumer events include Yoga, Easter Brunch. The Pine and Thistle Kitchen is close by; all part of the Crossmount Village community.
