In 2017, J.C. Pennie and Marilyn Field, MSM, established Windrush Estate Winery in the emerging wine region of Hockley Hills, an hour northwest of Toronto.

The valley is located between Toronto and Georgian Bay off Lake Huron. Named for a delightful river in the Cotswolds of England. Windrush Chateau, acclaimed for its unique architecture and art, is the venue to exclusive evenings of wine, dinner by internationally acclaimed chefs and music by local rising stars.

Recently, the winery teamed with the Windrush Generation’s Foundation in London, UK, shareing a passion for empowering marginalized underserved youth; indeed a portion of our profits goes to supporting education programs for youth (Marilyns lifetime work of 25 years before we started the winery).

Marilyn Field, MSM,has 25 years international executive experience as Founder of DAREarts, 2020 World and LEAD. Awarded Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal in 2001 and inducted into the Caledon Walk of Fame in 2013, she acts as Corporate Secretary of Windrush and Zast-Foods and is the Chateau Windrush land owner.

J.C.Pennie, founded Windrush Corporation in 1984, which is the Winery General Partner with a background of international business start-ups from: restaurants, advertising, computer imaging, and wind energy which achieved sales of from $10.0 to $400.0 million, three of which became public companies.

The wine consultant is Jim Warren. The head winemaker is Jonathan Boyle. Jonathan is a native Ontarian a graduate of Niagara College.

The vineyards were planted in 2017 growing Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet Franc.

Pinot Grigio won Bronze at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London, UK. Our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were featured (out of 150 wineries) at the dinner of Premiers Ford and Legault
