Yip McKay is the name of the founder. Yip was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, where he developed a deep appreciation for its diverse forests, majestic rivers and people of character. Leaving New Brunswick in 1933 for military college, then WWII, and a career in Toronto, he was determined to come home some day.
He would return every summer to plant apple trees, raspberry bushes and a vegetable garden, until 1972, when he was able to move back home for good.
The trees Yip planted continue to produce fruit and we are open to the public as a U-pick, where people can pick apples, take pictures under apple trees, and buy craft cider.
Yip's son, Chas, caught the bug, changed careers, and became a full time apple farmer in 1980. His son Joe is the head cidermaker.
The farm is located Nestled along the Saint John River in Long Reach, New Brunswick. Long Reach is a location near Saint John, New Brunswick, where the Saint John River flows through a long straight.

The Taproom offers an expansive outdoor patio with breathtaking views perfect for unwinding and connecting with friends and family. With a diverse selection of Yip ciders, local beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, pizza and snacks the taproom has something for everyone.
The taproom offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the craftsmanship that goes into each batch of Yip.
Elsewhere on the property, there are plans to install two geometric domes that can be used for weddings, family reunions, and other community events. Next to the parking lot, there are remains of an old house that once stood on the property.

Today the Yip Cider is owned and led by Co-Owners and brothers Joe, Sam & Hugh,
The Yip family chose apple varieties strictly for cider production. They include Golden Russet, and varieties from the United Kingdom, such as Dabinette, Kingston Black and Bulmers Norman.
Numerous events are offered through out the day including live music.
