Cedar Creek Estate Winery

Located on the hills above Lake Okanagan in Kelowna. The Fitzpatrick family, who founded CedarCreek in 1986, has committed the winery to respecting the land in its viticulture practices; to honouring the rich agricultural tradition of their family rooted in the Okanagan; and to pursuing perfection in the bottle. The family has been residing in the Okanagan since 1913. In 2014 the winery was sold to Anthony von Mandl, who is best known as the owner of Mission Hills Family Estate Winery.

A number of architectural changes were made after the purchase. Producing a very stunning winery on Kelowna's Lakeside.

Home Block at CedarCreek Winery. This indoor-outdoor restaurant

The name Home Block refers to the vineyard that surrounds the winery. The building is crafted from fieldstone and 100-year-old reclaimed barn wood and the cuisine draws on those elemental roots.

The winemaker is Taylor Whelan. He is a B.C. native. Born and raised in Campbell River on Vancouver Island, he later migrated to Victoria for an undergraduate degree in Biology. Fisheries science turned out to be less swimming with whales and mores statistics. So Taylor pursued his other passion, winemaking. After completing a post-graduate diploma in Oenology and Viticulture from Brock University in Ontario, Taylor worked in Niagara, Ontario, as well as for world class premium wineries in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, in McLaren Vale, Australia, and in Piper’s River, Tasmania. Taylor’s passion for cool climate grape growing and winemaking brought him to CedarCreek for harvest in 2011.

Amy Paynter is the assistant winemaker originally from New Zealand.

Cedar Creek was named Inter Vin winery of the year 2019. CedarCreek “Colbert Edition” Platinum Reserve Meritage 2006 is a BC Re Icon selection.
