Robert's Selections reflects wines we have enjoyed in our home in 2022, visiting friends, or dining out. Our selections are based on a glass or more of each wine in enjoyable surroundings. On numerous occasions our review takes into account the thoughts of our friends. These are wines we recommend for your enjoyment; not every bottle we open will make this list, only the best!

Sandhill - Terroir Driven 2021 Sovereign Opal
A very good wine light and freshing with flavours of tropical fruit, melon, and gooseberry. Lovely notes tropical fruit, pink grapefruit, lychee nut, and white peach linger on the off-dry finish.95
Wild Goose Vineyards 2021 Autum Gold
A sweeter wine. The blend is Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc.featuring an aromatic blend showing mango, papaya, pineapple, baked golden apple, dried rose petal and honeysuckle notes along with ripe peach and savoury camomile. 92
Jackson - Triggs Estate Winery - Okanagan -Reserve Merlot 2020
A very good wine at a very good price. plum, jammy strawberry, rich mocha notes and smoky toast through. 92
Church and State 2018 Frizzante Muscat
One of the best Sparking Wines I have enjoyed this year. It has light floral aromatics with flavours of peach and pear! 95
OK Crush Pad - free form Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
A natural Wine itwas destemmed and put into stainless open tops. Native fermentation started spontaneously, and grapes were punched down twice a day by hand. After 11 months of concrete ageing post basket pressing the wine was settled naturally and bottled. It has a light texture with notes of Red Berries 92
OK Crush Pad - free form Cabernet Franc 2019
A natural Wine fresh wine grapes grown in the south of BC desert. Rasberry and hints of peper dominate the wine 90

comprised of Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Gruner Veltliner, Lovely peach and tropical fruit flavours 94
Seaside Pearl Estate Winery - Petite Milo 2021
Perhaps the best Petite Milo I have enjoyed in the past three years. It is clean and fresh with honey and citrus notes on the palette, finishing with tropical aromas of guava and pineapple. 95
Seaside Pearl Estate Winery - The Connaught Syrah 2019
Not quite a full bodied red which suites my personal taste It has all the flavours associated with the Syrah grape. The pepper and spicy notes did not dominate allowing the flavours of black berries to come through nicely. 93
Mt Lehman Winery - 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
A good wine spending 18 months in new oak barrels. Hints of spices. Soft plum flavour through out 90
C.C. Jentsch Cellars
Sadly this winery closed after the passing of it owner. The wines are excellent. The 2019 Chase a blend of 4 wines 62% Merlot,23% Malbec,12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3 % Cabernet Franc. Black cherry dominates with hints of Plum and strawberry 92
Church and State Blanc de Blancs
The 2018 Blanc de Blancs spent 30 months on the lees at sparkling wine house in Brentwood Bay. The fruit for this wine comes from the Détente vineyard on the Black Sage Bench. A terroir that ripens Chardonnay perfectly for this method of wine making. It begins with nice lemon note sand soft flowers. The bubbles are light, providing a freshness on the palette. 94
Sumac Ridge Cabernet Merlot
A most enjoyable wine. It features flavours of Blackberries Cherry and Spices. 90
Planters Ridge Tidal 2021
A perfect blend of L'Acadie Blanc, Frontenac Blanc, Frontenac Gris, Seyval, NY Muscat & Chardonnay. It has aromas of apple blossom, peach and honeydew melon. A perfect finish! 95
Township 7 Blanc 2020
This refreshing wine is highlighted by citrus flavours and touches of candy apple. It provides a touch of summer sweatiness 92
BorderTown GrünerVeltliner 2019
It begins with a nice floral aroma followed by flavours of Peach and Apricot and hints of lime.90
Chaberton Estate - Bacchus 2020
Internationally known for there Bacchus Chamberton's 2020 is another sensational wine.
Flavours of peach and oear with hints of key lime. 94
Blue Grouse Ortega 2021
A most enjoyable wine. fruit forward aroma that goes all the way to the finish. Hints of lemon zest, Mandarin orange, caramel, and white peach. 93
Symphony Ortega 2021
It all begins with aromas of fresh l lime, fragrant of melon and elderberry on the nose. It has a dry, juicy palate with zesty citrus, ripe melon, and a clean crisp finish. 94

Refreshing citrus flavours a Memorable wine 92
Alderlea 2018 Merlot
An excellent wine! It has everything you would expect in a good Merlot. The flavours of dark berries shin through out! 94
Domaine de Grand Pré Ortega
Nice aromas of pear, honey and hints of apricot..It goes down light and says more please 92
Cedar Creek Riesling Okanagan 2021
Light acidity refreshing flavours apple dominates.. 91
Castoro de Oro Heart of Gold
A perfect white blend brings together Pinot Blanc, Vidal, Siegfried and Viognier. It exhibits a wide variety of fruit flavours, with a slight cotton candy note on the end. I tried it as a wine in the Can. A most impressive wine 96
Castoro de Oro Pinot Noir 2019
This is a really good Pinot Noir. The flavours of Cherry shines through. Acidity is perfect. 94
Castoro de Oro Gewurztraminer 2017
Wonderful brusting with flavours. Citrus and rose petal comes through nicely.A nice shuttle dry wine 94
Castoro de Oro Merlot
A beautiful Merlot in a can. It comes in at 13.9 % alcohol It is everything one can ask for in a good Merlot 94
Castoro de Oro Chardonnay
A very nice Chardonnay in a can. Notes of Peaches and pears.. delightful citrus fruit finish 90

Wow The wine starts with a very nice aroma. Exceptional flavours of dark fruit with hints of chocolate 95
Closson Chase 2019 The Brock Chardonnay
From Prince Edward County in Ontario, an excellent wine. Light and freshing wonderful fruit flavours. Good acidity. 93

From Prince Edward County in Ontario, an excellent wine. Providing notes of earth and minerals and wonderful fruit flavours. Good acidity. 92
Closson Chase 2019 Churchside Pinot Noir
From Prince Edward County in Ontario, an excellent wine. 18 months in French Oaked barrels. Limited production. It starts with a nice aroma of fresh Fruits, black cherry with hints of cranberry. The tannins create a nice lasting finish 93
Church and State 2018 Syrah
This award winning wine is bold; it is also very dry. The nose presents eucalyptus, mint and red peppers. On the palate expresses notes of cranberries, green peppercorns and red currants. 94

A very nice blend of Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc. Fresh bright flavours from start to finish , Featuring melon,peaches honey and hints of grapefruit. 94

An blend of Nova Scotia L’Acadie Blanc with a touch of Pinot Grigio. An uniquely refreshingly dry, floral wine. Peach, honeysuckle, with hints of apple and lemon/lime. 92
Inniskillin Niagara Estate Series Late Autumn Riesling 2020
A most interesting wine that plays with your taste buds. On the nose a nice aroma of citrus and apple awake the taste buds. The citrus flavours continue to the finish. A touch of sweetness. 91

A refreshing wine perfect for the patio season Nice citrus flavours. pear, green apple, ginger, a hint of nectarine, and a through line of salinity and spice. 92

A very popular wine from Nova Scotia. Clean crisp Notes of starfruit, lime and honeydew. 93

Almost perfect. nice flavours of honeydew, pear with hints of mango and apricot. Smooth and mellow. 94
