They say a picture is worth a 1000 words and how true it is when it comes to the Okanagan Lake County amazing 50TH Parallel Estate Winery.

Lake Country is a district municipality with a population of approximately 15,000 in the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia, Canada. It is a part of the Central Okanagan Regional District, and of the Kelowna metropolitan area. The winery is located north of the Lake Country city center over looking Okanagan Lake. Wood Lake been a short distance to the east.

The winery has a total of 61 acres. Pinot Noir makes up about 35% of the winery’s production,

The proprietors wanted the building's architecture to reflect the importance of the name of the winery, with all of the prominent site lines and material being "in parallel" with each other. Length and linearity are common themes with careful attention being paid to using only four mediums to complement each other: concrete, metal, glass, and wood.

Sahuri Partnership Architects with owners Sheri-Lee and Curtis Curtis Krouzel have come together to embrace what is becoming truly one of the world's iconic wine destinations, 50th Parallel Estate.

The winery is situated in the middle of the 61-acre estate, and is developed specifically for the purposes of gently handling sensitive Pinot Noir and a select few aromatic white wine varieties, utilizing the natural sloping grade of the site to gently process fruit by maximizing the use of gravity rather than mechanical pumping of the sensitive juice and skins.

Executive chef Kai Koroll is the creative genius behind our regional seasonal restaurant BLOCK ONE and the entire culinary program at 50th Parallel Estate.

50th Parallel Estate Wines have been winning awards, both nationally and internationally, since the first vintage in 2011. Recently receiving numerous awards at InterVin 2019 (4 Gold, 3 Silver and 10 honours). Matt Fortuna is the winemaker. Pinot Noir is the red along with (whites) flagship Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, and a very special bit of Chardonnay.

The 50th Parallel Estate 2014 Chardonnay earned a double gold and the 2015 Riesling a gold medal at Great Northwest Invitational Wine Competition, an international judging for wine buyers staged at the Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River, Ore. The 2017 Chardonnay won silver at the All Canadian Championships The 2018 Riesling won gold as did 2016 Unparalleled Pinot Noir
