The Newfoundland Cider Company is the province's first craft cidery. Long time friends Chris Adams and Marc Poirier, would forage for wild apples to make their own personal small-batch ciders. After friendly competitions with each other to determine who makes the better cider, the two decided to turn their hobby into a partnership. In 2016, the Newfoundland Cider Company was established and in February 2017 launched its first two ciders to the public - The Old Tilt and Forager ciders.
