Quadra Island
Discovery Islands a.k.a. the Northern Gulf Islands. This spectacular archipelago is located between Campbell River , on North Central Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia on the west coast of Canada. The breathtaking fjords of Toba Inlet and Bute Inlet which cleave up to 80 km (50 miles) into the British Columbia, Coast Range mountains are also part of this supernatural region. The islands are
Quadra Island , Cortes Island , Read Island, Maurelle Island, Sonora Island Stuart Island, East and West Redonda Islands, the Rendezvous Islands and East and West Thurlow Islands
Quadra Island is the most populated.
Quadra is home to many talented artisans, and shopping for original art is an enjoyable way to become more familiar with the island. Currently there is one Winery on the Island

A small family winery located on the south end of the Island. Opening in 2009 after seven years of planning and work. Owned by
Ben McGuffie and Jill Ogasawara
2011 will be their first estate harvest from their own vineyard.
They plan on staying small making handcrafted wine from primarily Quadra Island grapes with a few thrown in from the Comox Valley. They want to make the best wines from grapes specific to our climate They make a dessert wine from Agria.
Signature wines:
Ortega, Black Crow (
Blend of Dornfelder, Agria and Pinot Noir grapes) and the Jimmy K (90% Pinot Gris and 10% Ortega)
Winemaker: Ben McGuffie and Jill Ogasawara
Philosophy: A little intervention as possible, the best wines are made in the vineyards.
