The 557-square-metre (6,000-square-foot) winery has thick concrete walls and a naturally cooled cellar, for 400 barrels, buried against the hillside. The interior’s public areas acquired the instant patina of age by having walls finished with Italian clay and tiles on the floor.

The winery’s European ambiance reflects the Portuguese heritage of the owners Fred and Pamala Farinha, and Alex and Maria Nunes

Alderlea Vineyards

Zac and Julie Brown took over Alderlea Vineyards in April 2017 Roger & Nancy Dosman founded the winery over 25 years ago.

Alderlea Vineyards is perfectly situated on a south-facing ridge in the Cowichan Valley, overlooking Quamichan Lake.  The lake draws the cold air off the land, reducing spring frosts, assisting grape ripening, and moderating the August heat to ensure balanced acidity in the fruit.  The vineyard is sheltered from coastal Pacific winds by Mount Provost and is one of the warmest locations in the Cowichan Valley.

Anarchist Mountain Vineyards

Andrew Stone and Terry Meyer Stone grow lovely Okanagan grapes and are proud to make small batch (450 cases) Anarchist Mountain Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Anarchist Mountain Vineyards sits at 1700 ft in a thin temperature inversion on the east side of the valley overlooking Osoyoos. The altitude provides a moderating effect that regulates acid balance in the ripe Southern valley fruit. Planted in 1985 the vineyard yields small volumes of high intensity fruit - less than 2 tons/acr
